Top Tips for Wedding Planning Organization

I'm sure it's no secret to you at this point that planning a wedding can be a very stressful endeavor. There are so many details to worry about, and it's not as if you can put the rest of your life on hold while doing everything wedding-related. Stress can also heavily affect your health and get in the way of your own self-care, something we are actively trying not to have happen with the FitBride Experience. So what can we do?

I spoke with some wedding professionals all over the country about their favorite ways to stay organized and on top of the small details while wedding planning. Here are our favorites:

1. Make a Wedding-Specific Email Address
It's possible you've already done this (heck, you might be reading this from that email address now), so great job! If not, here's what we mean:
Create a new, specific email account strictly for wedding business. You, your partner, and even your wedding planner can all have access to the account.
Emails can easily get lost in your personal or work accounts with all the spam, junk, shopping, subscription emails you get on a daily basis. Having one account, strictly for that one purpose can help you stay organized about the wedding so emails, prices PDFs, or anything else you might receive are easy to find.
Plus, if everyone has access to the account, the planning or sharing of information doesn't have to fall on just one person :).

2. Search with Instagram Tags
Instagram is the best way for smaller companies and local businesses to do their marketing. If you're interested in using these types of vendors, you can easily find them and view their work by searching on IG with their tags. Try specific, location targeted tags. For example, #CharlestonFlowers or #CharlestonWeddingVenue. These tags will not only lead you to the company's page so you can learn more about them, but it will also show you posts wedding guests and regular people have made using those tags. Seeing what the final product looks like in non-professional pictures can help you to make your decision on which vendor you want for your wedding.

3. Schedule Time for Wedding Talk and Strict Time for Non-Wedding Talk
What! No time for a break! You need to take a break, and it's okay to take a break. Schedule time in your week that you exist without wedding planning, and don't talk about it. Schedule times with your partner that you don't talk about wedding-related topics and you go back to talking about how the ending of Game of Thrones wasn't as good as you wanted. Keeping your time organized will do wonders for your mental health, and take a lot of the stress off everything having to sound and be perfect already.
